1. Zulu (1964) Based on a real-life battle, Zulu follows a group of British soldiers stationed in South Africa who must defend their tiny outpost against an attack by an overwhelming force of Zulu warriors. Outnumbered 40 to 1, the stoic British soldiers are still ready to fight to the finish. Richard Burton narrates this epic war film shot on location in Natal. 2. Lawrence of Arabia (1962) The epic tells the true-life story of warrior-poet T.E. Lawrence, who helped unite warring Arab tribes so they could strike back against the Turks in World War I. 4.  Pride and Prejudice (1995) - In this beautiful adaptation of Jane Austen's much-loved novel, wealthy (and proud) aristocrat Fitzwilliam Darcy matches wits with witty, prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet.  In order to win Elizabeth's hand and heart, Mr. Darcy meddles in the love lives of each of her sisters; but just as she realizes her true feelings, she might have lost him forever. 5.  Gettysburg (1993) The fiercest battle fought on American soil comes to the screen in a stunning production that painstakingly re-creates the events of three fateful days in July 1863. 8.  Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avon Lea (1985, 1987) - L.M. Montgomery's classic children's novel is brought to life. 9.  On the Waterfront (1954)  Terry Malloy, a has-been boxer who experiences a crisis of conscience while working for mobbed-up union boss Johnny Friendly. 18.   The Quiet Man (1952) John Wayne hangs up his spurs to star as a bachelor ex-boxer in this well-loved classic.
