In 2009 the cost of underage drinking was $752 million. 558 youth, ages twelve to twenty were admitted to treatment centers for alcohol abuse. The economic cost of alcohol-related crashes was $326 million. There were 5,038 alcohol-related traffic collisions with 2,652 persons injured in these collisions and 203 persons killed. 32,877 adults were arrested for driving under the influence; 2,410 of these were between the ages of eighteen and twenty. 216 juveniles, ages ten to seventeen were arrested for driving under the influence. 624 juveniles, ages ten to seventeen were arrested for drunkenness.
