As you know, last summer our Board of Bishops called the church to prayer and fasting regarding our upcoming General Conference. Specifically, the request was made to set aside the 23rd of each month as a day of fasting and prayer, asking the Lord to use our General Conference as a tool to ignite revival in our hearts, and as a means of equipping His church to reach His cherished missing.
We even have a section of our General Conference website ( GC11) dedicated to fasting and prayer. As we begin 2011, I'm asking -- on behalf of the Board of Administration -- that you also pray, specifically, for God's will to be done regarding the election of our bishops. Leadership matters. And there will probably be no single vote during General Conference that will impact the following four years as much as the election of our leadership team. Please join me in praying that the Lord will guide us in that process, and that we will know--and do--His will.
Thank you for all you're doing to grow God's kingdom through the Free Methodist Church! Our church has experienced significant growth over the past 4 years. We’re not only growing overseas, we’re also among the relatively few denominations experiencing growth in the United States. We have much for which to give thanks, as every day the Lord is adding to our number those who are being saved.
May Jesus’ name be praised, now and forevermore!
